West Yorkshire Premier League
Shelley 2 Ilkley Town 1
ONCE again Ilkley Town went down by the odd goal in their Premier League clash.
It was a familiar outcome as 80 per cent of their losses this season have been by just one goal.
Ilkley fell behind after six minutes when a long ball was converted by the home team's striker.
However, Town grew into the game with Jack Murray's pace creating opportunities from the left wing.
Ten minutes before half-time Adam Fowler equalised from close range, and on the stroke of half-time a back header from the Shelley centre half looped over the keeper and hit the crossbar.
Ilkley had chances in the second half to go ahead but were hit with a sucker punch after 84 minutes when Shelley scored with their only shot of the half.
This week Town are at home to second from bottom Brighouse with a 2pm kick off.
