Ilkley Juniors under-14s are celebrating ten years of football this year with one of the largest squads in the area.

The under-14s have more than 50 boys registered to play in the Harrogate League.

Despite the large squad the coaches are still appealing for new boys to sign up and enjoy playing the game.

Coach, Paul Ellis, said: “We’ve always been a squad that has welcomed new players, whatever their ability – we are inclusive not exclusive.

“The focus for us is to create a place where the lads can enjoy football and improve their skills.”

The teams have picked up a number of honours over the years and recently completed a tour of Holland, and entered weekend tournaments in Blackpool and Filey, plus a activities outside of football such as paintballing. More events are planned.

Training takes place at Ben Rhydding on Thursday evenings and Saturdays mornings, with most games are played on a Sunday.

A significant number of the boys have been playing for the squad since they were five years old. Most of them come from Addingham and Burley, Menston and Guiseley.
