Kendal 2 Ben Rhydding 1

BEN Rhydding took on a Kendal side who were sitting ninth in the Investec Women's National League Conference North and desperate to give them a tough test.

Rhydding struggled to gain the initiative and went 1-0 down 20 minutes into the game from a Kendal penalty corner.

The visitors could not get their game going and shortly after the break it was 2-0 when Kendal worked their way through the defence with a slick passing move.

This brought the Rhydding ladies to life and they started to show some of the flowing, high-tempo hockey they had produced recently.

The Kendal keeper was on fine form saving many penalty corner shots from Sarah Bell and Tanisha Janzen.

With seven minutes to go, Rachel Doherty coolly slotted the ball home after the a penalty corner was saved.

Unfortunately, Rhydding had left it too late to try a gain a point from the match.
