A ruthless display from Otley Town ensued at the weekend as they hit Burley Trojans for six to book their semi-final spot in the Wharfedale District Cup.

The club went on to thank the match officials for their best efforts to keep the game on, when they said: “Our thanks go out to the official for coming out of his way for an early pitch inspection, and to the opposition for agreeing to reverse the fixture after Burley Rec was frozen off.”

Town went into the half time break 1-0 up courtesy of Brad Longhorn but put the game to bed early in the second half when Harry Hawkins got the first of his two goals.

Skipper Mitch Lambert-Tuthill capped a man of the match performance with a superb third, curling one into the stanchion from the edge of the box. Longhorn helped himself to another with sub-Alex Yates also on target.

Ant Friend picked up his first win in charge of the reserves who took all three points from their game at Hall Green. The result lifts Town off the foot of Alliance Division One.
