ILKLEY Town Women extended their lead at the summit of the West Riding County First Division to 12 points after thrashing Brayton Belles LFC 10-0 away from home on Sunday.

There was a hat-trick for Millie Dawson, a brace each for Isabelle Armstrong and substitute Isabel Wilks and Taylor Orchard, Emily Reader-Harris and Millie Washington also found themselves on the scoresheet.

The victory sees them go 12 points ahead of Leeds Hyde Park in 2nd, who do have three games in hand on Ilkley, however.

Manager, Claire Armstrong spoke of her delight after scoring ten goals at the weekend, when she said: “After a relatively tight and challenging first half, in which the wind was very strong, we were able to gain momentum and displayed a great second half performance.

“I feel it was a well-deserved win.”

Town’s scheduled home fixture against Ackworth Girls this Sunday has been postponed.
