JAMIE Stones has stepped down from his role as Ilkley Town Men’s Reserve Team manager.

It was only a short stint at the club for Stones, but it was certainly one to remember, having overseen promotion to the West Yorkshire Premier League and a Wharfedale District Cup victory.

He only took charge of the role back in April 2022.

Ilkley went on to comment through their social media: “Thank you to Jamie for his outstanding contribution and the countless hours he has dedicated as a committed volunteer.”

Sam Dexter, Town’s current First Team manager, commented: “I would like to thank Jamie for his efforts over the past years at the club. A great lad, outstanding achievements with the reserves, commitment, countless voluntary hours and dedication, and it’s a shame to see him go. Good luck in whatever you choose to do next.”

Dexter’s side return to action this Saturday at home to Bacup Borough (3pm), having not played since December 27 against Nelson.
