TEN-man Guiseley fell at the first hurdle after being dumped out of the FA Cup at Marine in last night’s replay.

Following on from Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Nethermoor, the two teams went head-to-head once again but the hosts ran out comfortable 3-0 winners to see themselves through to the second round of qualifying.

It didn’t take long for Marine to get into their groove and they went ahead after just two minutes of the tie, with Mampala finishing off the first opportunity of the game in clinical fashion, after the ball had fallen kindly for him.

It was nearly two for the hosts just five minutes later, however Battersby recovered well to save Guiseley following a defensive mix-up.

Guiseley did briefly respond to create a chance of their own. Firstly, Denton saw a header and rebound both saved by Goddard before the striker then saw an effort cleared brilliantly off the line.

Back came Marine, though, as Doyle looked certain to score from inside the box but Battersby somehow palmed the powerful strike over the bar.

After the interval Marine’s second goal came in the 68th minute when White hit a stunning strike that kissed the underside of the bar on its way in.

It got bad to worse for Guiseley, as Tom Pratt was shown a straight red card only four minutes later, after lunging late into a tackle.

Marine sealed the victory with ten minutes of the tie remaining, as Soloman cooly slotted the ball beyond the reach of Battersby to crown a 3-0 win for the home side, who will now move on to the second round of qualifying in the FA Cup.

Up next for Guiseley is a return to league action when they travel to Bamber Bridge on Saturday, with the game commencing at 3pm.
