GUISELEY have confirmed that a long-time supporter of the club has made a donation to fund the shortfall in Lewis Whitham's injury fundraiser.

On March 11, 2023, in a game away at Marine FC, Whitham suffered a complete ACL, MCL and meniscus tear following an innocuous challenge.

Unfortunately, as Whitham is not a member of the PFA they were unable to provide financial assistance towards a private procedure.

It left Guiseley and the young winger with two options; wait for an NHS procedure or attempt to find the sum of £8500 which is the cost of a private operation.

Following the donations of 65 people including the latest from a ‘long-time’ supporter, Guiseley have therefore been able to get Whitham booked in for pre-op procedures, to the delight of many involved with the club.

Furthermore, as revealed at the club’s End of Season Dinner last week, the winger has signed a new contract with Guiseley for next season.

He made 19 appearances and scored seven goals last season for the Lions.
