BRACKEN Ghyll stormed to victory at the Bradford Golf Union’s Team Championship over the weekend, but there were plenty more interesting stories on the course at Keighley too.

Led by Jack Lampkin’s magnificent 66, Bracken Ghyll won by a mammoth 13 strokes.

Addressing the winners, Bradford Union president Simon Tabel said: “The team, Jack, Henry Croft and Jonny Reynolds, produced a great score (210) around Keighley.

“Jack’s 66 was the best individual score of the day too, and he’s a very consistent player who has represented Yorkshire a lot this season.

“On the whole, their team has done well of late, and have won the Yorkshire Championships the last two years, so their victory was no surprise on Sunday.

“But it was the first time they’d ever won our Union’s Team Championship, so it was a good result for them.”
