GUISELEY may have climbed out of the National League relegation zone but their manager Adam Lockwood is aware there are more challenges ahead.

Saturday’s fine 2-1 win at Dagenham & Redbridge means they have taken 16 points from their last eight games.

And with a key home clash coming up against bottom team North Ferriby on Saturday followed by another Nethermoor clash against Barrow on Tuesday, Lockwood wants to continue the upward momentum.

With 13 games to go, Guiseley have 35 points which means that a further 15 from their remaining fixtures would take them to the generally accepted safety total of 50.

Lockwood said: “We’ve got a lot of work to do. We must keep working hard, drive the standards and achieve our goals.

“I am asking our players to step up to the plate.

“We know what we have got in our changing room and in our squad as a whole.

“They thrive on the challenge. Look into their eyes and they are enjoying it.

“They are enjoying the challenges. It is great to be manager of a group of players like that.”
