ILKLEY go into Saturday’s National League Three North battle at Firwood Waterloo looking for a boost.
Their 12-6 home defeat by Cleckheaton was a big disappointment and they have an early chance to put things right.
But head of rugby Rhys Morgan has warned that they have to ensure they are in the right frame of mind.
“Waterloo are a much improved side,” he said. “They will present us with a real test so we have to get our own game right.
“Cleckheaton came to Stacks Field with a plan and they stuck to it. Fair play to them, they earned their win.
“We got into a lot of good positions but couldn’t get over the whitewash. That is something we need to address for the Waterloo game.”
Morgan has continued to add new players to his squad over the past week. Teenage winger Harry Boyd, a student at Bradford Grammar School, scored two tries on his debut for the second team last week and could come in for the injured Dion Hendricks.
Australian second row Charlie Scott has returned to the club and flanker Joe Lowes, son of Yorkshire Carnegie coach Jimmy Lowes has moved to Stacks Field.
