Keighley Town 4 Ilkley Dynamo 5

LEAGUE Champions Dynamo defeated current Premier Division Keighley Town to record their fourth-successive victory.

Dynamo had a great start when a powerful shot from Phil Thommesen went beneath the stranded Keighley keeper to put Dynamo 1-0 ahead.

Within ten minutes Leon Smith had headed an equaliser for Keighley. Dynamo imposed themselves in midfield, exchanging some neat passes, retaining possession and breaking at speed.

Prolific marksman Danny Henderson soon put Dynamo back in front with a pin-point low shot to make it 2-1. However, another hard-earned lead was wiped out when Gareth Higgs levelled matters.

The whole Dynamo team began to press with renewed vigour. Decisive contributions from the outstanding Danny Bryan, Craig Bentham and fellow midfielder Olli Blair, were evident as the Ilkley side took control.

The Dynamo centre forward, Ross Wilson, then made a significant impression on the match. His predatory marksmanship was rewarded when he rounded two defenders to put Dynamo 3-2 ahead.

He then unleashed an unstoppable shot to make it 4-2 before producing a masterclass in mobility and slick finishing by scoring again for the visitors to complete an outstanding hat trick to put Dynamo 5-2 in front.

The home side gradually worked their way back into the game. Higgs added another for Keighley to make it 5-3 and although Dynamo continued to show good organisation and determination, the big lead had begun to evaporate.

Dynamo defended with some intensity as both Simon Walker and Sam Jacomb helped to dominate the visitors rearguard just as Keighley piled on the pressure. Late on Mark Webster added a fourth for the home side but Dynamo keeper, Shane Etherington ensured his team kept hold of the three points.
