Ilkley Dynamo 6 Menston 1

Dynamo climbed to the top of the Wharfedale triangle Premier Division after cruising to victory in their final home game.

The Ilkley side dominated the early exchanges and their desire for victory was always evident.

Both Simon Walker and Tom Higman made excellent contributions as the home side retained the initiative and eventually converted some good possession into goals.

A lot of creativity in midfield from Danny Kenna resulted in him having a crucial hand in all three of the early goals, strongly finished by Ben Cater, Ollie Blair and Chris Holmes.

Although Josh Roberts had pulled a goal back for Menston to make it 3-1 just before the break, Dynamo continued to move the ball with confidence and real poise They piled on the pressure and Rob Powell, the Dynamo goalkeeper, was rarely troubled.

Although Menston flickered in patches, Dynamo were much crisper in the second half with the strong running of Danny Bryan and some quick movement from Michael Bloom helping to ensure another powerful team performance.

Craig Bentham added a fourth goal before the energetic Dom Grimes was rewarded when he converted two further chances to make it 6-1.

A couple of late efforts from James Winward and Danny Bott underlined the Dynamo dominance but both went unrewarded as their shots flashed wide during some persistent late attacks.

Dynamo had maintained another strong second half performance.

They were able to play comfortably within themselves as they saw out the closing minutes.
