Ilkley Gazette: Georgia Malir produced another good run Georgia Malir produced another good run

Ilkley Harriers’ Georgia Malir got the new year off to a flying start in the Yorkshire Cross Country Championships at Lightwater Valley.

Georgia gave fell and cross country expert Katie Walshaw, and World Marathon Champ- ionship tenth-place finisher Susan Partridge a real run for their money to finish fourth overall and second junior.

The first four were over a minute ahead of the rest of the field which included Annabel Mason.

Sally Morley also had an excellent run, finishing 25th.

In the men’s race, fell runner Dave Wilby was 68th out of 260 and Steve Coy also made the top half of the field.

The junior Harriers were out in force and they produced encouraging results.

Through their efforts the club achieved five team placings which represented a fine effort on a day when the conditions were testing.
