Matthew Postlethwaite from Ilkley and Tom Gorman of Bramhope have become used to being opponents at club level but now they are teaming up to win represent- ative honours.
Postlewaite, who plays for Ilkley and West Park’s Gor- man were in the England Under-16B (North) team at the recent Wellington Inter- national Festival.
Both played major roles in England’s success.
Postlewaite who played blindside flanker and capt- ained the side was the only player from the North squad to play all three games in full.
Gorman, who played on the wing and at full back, scored eight tries in the three matches, his final try against Belgium was an 80 metre solo effert.
England B beat France B 27-26, Netherlands u-17s 18-8 and Belgium u-17s 46-12.
They are the first England team and only the second side in the history of the festival, to win all three of their games.
