Signed items from Daniel Craig will raise money for sick children at a James Bond-style event.

The theme of the fundraiser was chosen in the actor’s honour after he was the first celebrity to donate items for auction.

The Bethany’s Smile Charity Ball will feature a contest to find the best Daniel Craig and Bond girl lookalikes.

The winners will be filmed in the charity’s own take on the Casino Royale movie.

The event, in the Long Room at Headingley Stadium on October 20, is organised by the charity formed by 12-year-old Bethany Hare.

The Horsforth schoolgirl has already raised thousands of pounds for children’s hospice Martin House, and is now extending her fundraising to help sick children.

More than £1,600 was raised with a Walk of Smiles from Horsforth to Kirkstall in September. Now Bethany and her family are hoping the public will support the charity ball.

Bethany’s mum, Yvonne, said: “Gala Casinos are sponsoring the event by supplying four croupiers with tables from Jack’s Casinos.  “We have an ice luge/sculpture of the Walther PPK James Bond gun where we will be selling vodka shots, there will be a photographer, iPads on all tables for the silent auction, which will be run by Bidtech, and also a live auction with items that have been signed and donated specifically for Bethany’s auction by Daniel Craig himself.”

Tickets cost £40 each and include a drink on arrival, three-course meal, coffee and mints.

The young fundraiser is also planning a Christmas party-wear fashion show at Headingley Stadium on November 15.

To help her prepare, she has been given VIP access to the Leeds Fashion Show in October to meet organisers, designers and models.

She’s asking designers, retailers, celebrities and the public to donate one item of party-wear each to auction on the night. Headingley Stadium has donated two suites for the event, and Bethany is looking for retailers to take stalls or display their collections on the catwalk.

Tickets for the event are £10, and can be ordered from bethanys smile-@virginmedia.com.
