JENS Schneider, of Ilkley Cycling Club, is well on his way on his trip from Rome to York Minster, to home by bike. Jens is a regular member of Ilkley's Tuesday cycling group and loved the challenge of the local routes and hills. This time he has decided on a solo trip flying to Rome with Jet2 airways from Leeds Bradford airport and getting back home on the bike. Jens is fundraising for the charity World Vision .
World Vision is the world’s largest international children’s charity, working to bring real hope to millions of children in the world’s hardest places. Jens said: "I am cycling from St Peter's Square to York Minster. Whilst this is a personal journey, I am hoping that it will provide an opportunity to raise some funds for those in desperate need."
Jens is expected back in Ilkley this week having travelled over the Appenines and Alps and down the Rhine to Rotterdam. He has travelled through Siena and Lucca, Lake Como and the St Gotthard pass, Konstanz, Colmar, Strasbourg, Mainz, Bingen and Bonn .If you would like to sponsor Jens visit
