EMPLOYEES at Ilkley-based NG Bailey are celebrating raising over £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the company’s first ever charity of the year (COTY) partnership. This sum smashed the company’s original £50,000 target.

The company’s employees, friends and families, customers, suppliers and the local community embarked on a series of challenges and adventures to raise much needed funds. Activities included an executive 500 mile cycle challenge, supplier events, sportsman dinners, raffles, car washes and various other activities and challenges.

Cal Bailey, NG Bailey’s sustainability director and family member, said: “As cancer is such a prevalent disease these days, it is something that touches each and every one of our lives in some way shape or form. This connection is certainly one of the reasons why our employees chose Macmillan.

“As a business we’re immensely proud of the way everyone has embraced the partnership and raised such a fantastic amount of money. It’s been great to see such a high level of enthusiasm for the cause up and down the country with everyone coming together, taking part, making a big difference and having a lot of fun along the way.”

Matt Jameson from Macmillan said: “The passion and dedication shown by NG Bailey has been amazing and we’ve really enjoyed working with NG Bailey to help raise vital funds and increase awareness about cancer and the work that we do. The fact that NG Bailey has raised over double their initial target means that we will now be able to fund a new small Macmillan information and support centre.”
