THE 1st Addingham Brownies will be fundraising for Guide Dogs on their stall at Addingham Primary School’s Christmas Fayre on Sunday, December 4.

The Brownies have fundraised for Guide Dogs before, and have already sponsored five guide dog puppies. Currently the Brownies are following sponsored pups Ava and Yasmin through their training.

Gill Moon, Unit Guider of 1st Addingham Brownies said: “Our last fundraiser was a blindfolded sponsored walk. The Brownies walked in pairs - one blindfolded, the other guiding. We wanted to show what it is like to be visually impaired and to try and have some empathy with someone who relies on another person for assistance. This year we are taking a table at our local primary school's Christmas Fayre and thought that Guide Dogs would be a good cause to raise funds for again.”

The Christmas gifts for sale have all been handmade by the Brownies themselves. Guide dog merchandise, including Christmas cards will also be on sale. Posters and leaflets giving information about the charity will be available and everyone will be able to try the ever popular Nail Game (a tombola with a difference).

The fayre runs from from 2pm to 4pm at Addingham Primary School in Bolton Road, Addingham.
