An injured walker was hauled to safety by a fell rescue team after plunging five metres into a stream at Ilkley beauty spot Heber's Ghyll.

The man, said to be aged 61, fell at the wooded ghyll early on Saturday morning (November 21).

A team from Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was called out at about 6.55am. UWFRA said the man, who had suffered shoulder and pelvic injuries, was treated at the scene by ambulance service paramedics, before being placed in a stretcher and hauled up a short climb to a waiting ambulance.
