FAMILIES of children with additional needs are being supported with a £2,500 donation from Guiseley Lions.
The money has been given to the Ilkley-based LS29 group, which provides support, activities and fun for children with additional needs and their families.
A Guiseley Lions spokesman said: "It is the only local group of its type, which supports not only the children but also their siblings and families, and currently has a membership of 100 families in the area."
He added: "The Group’s aim is to run at least monthly activities during term time and weekly activities during the school holidays.
In practice they run more regular activities and have now helped organize a weekly youth club for older children, and run a music group for younger children."
Activities include an after school music group, led by Lynne O’Malley of Rhythm Time, which helps children develop confidence, social skills and language.
The money donated to the group was raised at the Guiseley Lions beer festival at Coopers.
