POLICE officers are appealing for witnesses and any video footage of a Motocross event in which a rider from Otley was injured and sadly later died as a result of his injuries.
The incident happened on Sunday, August 2 August at the event on Catteralls farm in Clayton le Dale, Blackburn.
The rider, 32-year-old Carl Hughes, of Otley, somehow came off his motorbike and sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital where he sadly died on Thursday, August 6.
PC 2412 Paul Travis of the Road Policing Team said: “We are still trying to determine exactly how the rider came to sustain the ultimately fatal injuries and we want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have video footage or photographs of the event that they could share with us as part of our enquiries.”
