MEMBERS of the Adult Greenroom from the Ilkley Playhouse are performing in some of Ilkley’s care homes.

The performance includes songs, poems and an abbreviated version of the last act of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Angie Kirtley, activity co-ordinator from Troutbeck Care Home said: "All the residents were asked about the performance of The Importance of Being Earnest and they all just really, really loved it! They liked the costumes and the sing-a-long too. The residents and staff enjoyed it all so much they have asked for a repeat performance later in the year if possible!"

After the performances there is a collection for the Walter Swan Trust. The trust, in liaison with the Ilkley Literature Festival and the West Yorkshire Playhouse, supports new writers.

The new season of Adult Greenroom Classes runs from September to December and new members are always being sought.
