A statue of one of Otley's most famous sons has been 'yarn bombed' in celebration of the Tour de France.
A group of guerrilla knitters from three local groups kitted out the Thomas Chippendale monument, on Manor Square, with a yellow hat, scarf and bunting on Monday night.
The act of apparent - benevolent - rebellion, however, was actually the result of a Tour de France focused partnership between the Big Hoo-Ha Co and Otley Courthouse.
Frances Taylor of the Big Hoo-Ha Co said: "We all think the hat rather suits him.
"It’s just a bit of fun to celebrate the bike race. There has also been a lot of bunting knitted, which will soon be going up around the town."
The community arts organisation is holding several Tour-related events in collaboration with the Courthouse, including a bike decoration workshop at the arts centre on Saturday, June 21. and a film editing session at The Woolpack Studios, on Bondgate, on Tuesday, June 24.
