An Otley artist and cyclist’s illustrated guide to the Yorkshire stage of the Tour de France will be published next month.
Heather Dawe combined her passions for art, writing and cycling to produce A Bicycle Ride In Yorkshire, which she is self-publishing after running a successful Kickstarter project to establish if there was enough demand.
Heather, a past winner of Yorkshire’s Three Peaks Cyclo-Cross, is aiming for the book – a collection of 50 paintings and pieces of writing inspired by many of the places Le Tour will pass through – to be out by mid-March.
She will hold a launch party for it at North Bar Social, in Otley, 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, March 29. She described her book as: “A celebration of bike riding, the county of Yorkshire and the visit to it of the 2014 Tour de France.”
