A presentation about the history of sexual health organisation Yorkshire MESMAC will take place at a special LGBT History Month event in Ilkley.

Dr Steve Hopker will give a presentation of the history of the organisation, detailing developments over the past 20 years for people in the lesbian, gay and bisexual communities in the region.

The event will take place at the Clarke Foley Centre, Cunliffe Road, on February 26, starting at 4.30pm.

Complimentary afternoon tea will be provided.

Organisers will also show some heart-warming short interviews on film about present-day lives of some gay people and there will be chance to meet with other LGBT people from around the area, find out information about services of interest and to say what is needed for these communities, which experience greater degrees of isolation and poor health.

Contact Clive Spendlove on 07913 264967 or David Hutchinson on 07543 801135 to reserve a place at the event.
