More than 100 people gathered outside Ilkley Town Hall on August 1 to mark Yorkshire Day in style.
Town crier Chris Richards made the traditional declaration, before stepping aside for the Clifton Brass Band to strike up a stirring rendition of On Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at.
Dozens of Yorkshire flags were on view for the annual event, which also marks the opening of the town’s popular summer festival.
This year’s event includes the popular Dolce Vita weekend, continental markets and tea dances at the Winter Garden, as well as newer features such as a giant zumba party and a variety show with Bernie Clifton.
Mr Richards delivered the Yorkshire Day declaration alongside Ilkley Parish Council chairman Councillor Heathcliffe Bowen on the steps of the town hall to loud cheers.
The band continued to play inside the Winter Garden, while tea, coffee and scones were served.
