A huge wooden cross is once again dominating the land-scape of Otley to mark Easter.
More than 50 people assembled at Surprise View last Saturday to haul the two-tonne monument into position on top of Otley Chevin.
Otley Methodist Church Minister the Reverend Julian Pursehouse said he was very grateful for the fair weather.
He said: “There was a chance we wouldn’t have managed it had there been strong winds and driving rain, but all went well thanks to good teamwork.”
The first cross was installed in 1969. The current cross, built for Easter 2000, is made of timber recovered from Manch-ester’s Arndale Centre after it was bombed by the IRA.
