The full line-up for the open air concert finale to Ilkley Summer Festival has been revealed.
Tickets are still available for seats at tables in prime positions at the Last Night of the Proms Concert, which will take place on The Grove, Ilkley, on Saturday, August 28.
The Elderly Brothers, a tribute to the Everley Brothers, will take to the stage on the night. Three up and coming young performers, soprano Alexandra Lowe – who performed at this year’s Denis Sharp Bursary Concert, and Grassington Festival Fringe – plus Christian Lunn and Alex Knowlson. Award-winning Greek classical guitarist Vasilis Bessas will play pieces from his popular classical guitar repertoire.
The second half of the evening will see the Marsden Silver Prize band take to the stage to play the traditional Last Night classics.
The concert is organised on behalf of Ilkley Parish Council by Councillor Mike Gibbons. He says he is again hoping for dry weather – it has only rained once in the eight year history of the concert – but advises concert-goers to go equipped for wet weather.
