IF you have something to be mended then the members of Otley Maker Space, next to the Courthouse in Otley, offer a pay-as-you-feel repair service on the last Sunday of the month, subject to enough volunteer fixers being available.

They will have a go at most things, from vacuum cleaners to toasters and missing buttons to small items of furniture, but not large things such as white goods.

The next dates are Sunday, January 28th and Sunday, February 25th from 10am until 1pm. Please check OMS’s website (www.otleymakerspace.co.uk) or social media before travelling.

If you like making things from wood, or dressmaking, or 3D printing, or electronics, but don’t have the space or equipment to pursue your hobby at home, then Otley Maker Space could be for you.

Otley Maker Space has a large workshop with professional woodworking equipment, plus 3D printers and a laser cutter, as well as a space set aside for cleaner activities such as sewing. It’s an ideal place to practise and improve your skills while learning and gaining inspiration from other makers.

Otley Maker Space welcomes enquiries from potential members (adults only) who want to know more or have a look around – you can even attend a trial session for free.

If you then decide to join, use of the facilities and equipment costs just £20 a month. Have a look at the OMS website - www.otleymakerspace.co.uk – or call in during one of our regular sessions for a chat.
