STEETON AFC has just launched its playing kit for the 2023/24 season.

A Steeton spokesperson said: “It’s a fresh new look for the Chevrons from our friends at Hummel UK.”

The shirts, which are sponsored by Acorn Stairlifts and LMP Legal costs £35 for adults and £25 for children.

In other club news, Steeton lost 3-0 to Frickley in a pre-season friendly at Marley on Saturday.

Frickley went 1-0 up on 12 minutes when they broke down the left and whipped a cross across the face of goal where the number ten finished at the far post.

The second came six minutes later from a free-kick when the unmarked centre half flicked it onto another unmarked player who finished with ease.

Frickley then sealed a 3-0 victory with a third goal in the 89th minute.

Steeton had chances, their first on 20 minutes when they skied one over the bar with an open goal gaping.

Then on 34 minutes, Josh Walne was denied by a superb save from the keeper.

Three minutes later, a great block denied Arale Mohamed.

In the 54th minute, Walne put a superb across the face of goal but Baldwin just missed the crucial touch home.

Four minutes later, a last ditch block denied Jordan Townend.
