BARNOLDSWICK Town has retained four key players for the upcoming season.

Team captain Andrew Hill, an attacking midfielder, along with attacking midfielder Ben Ashton, left back Paul Dugdale and central midfielder James Ormrod have all been signed on for next season.

Manager Andy Harrison said of Hill: "We're delighted to have Andy on board again. He's come back to pre-season in the shape of his life with a real hunger and determination to help take this club forward."

Harrison was also delighted that Ashton is staying.

The manager said: "I'm sure the fans will be as delighted as I am he's staying. He's one of the most naturally gifted footballers I've worked with, bags of ability and hoping he can improve on his goals tally."

Harrison praised Dugdale for his knowledge and experience.

He said: "Like a fine wine this lad. Gives me so much more than just his performances. His knowledge of the game is exceptional and his experiences drip down into the lads. I'm delighted he's back again this year."

Ormrod will give Town versatility, as Harrison said: "We're delighted to have James back with us for the upcoming season. He gives us a real energy and composure in the middle of the pitch, and is able to act as cover at centre back if needed."
