ILKLEY Civic Society is pleased to announce more details of the speakers and subjects for its March meeting.
The title is ‘Architecture, Infrastructure and Place’ and speakers include Richard Blundell, RIBA the architect of the project that won the society’s 2022 Conservation Award and director of 3xa Design based in Saltaire. He will speak about the work of his practice both conserving historic buildings and designing contemporary new build.
Ilkley resident Richard Threlfall, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers will present on ‘Infrastructure and Sustainability’. Richard has both national and international experience of working on bodies promoting sustainable infrastructure vital to our future and too often taken for granted.
A spokesperson said: “Ilkley Civic Society continually promotes improvements to spaces in the town and that important issue of a ‘Sense of Place’. We will present some local spaces and invite comment on if they are as visually attractive and comfortable to visit as we think they should be.”
The meeting takes place on Saturday, March 11 at 2pm at Church House, Church Street, Ilkley.
All members and visitors are welcome.
