A WILD West inspired entry has been named the 2018 Otley Carnival parade's 'people's choice' winner.
Westgate Primary School's walking group featured a posse of cowboys with 'gun' bananas - donated by Aldi of Guiseley - pulling their own wagon, accompanied by inflatable horses and giant cacti.
The display proved a hit with the spectators who cheered on this year's carnival parade as it made its way through town on Saturday, June 16 - and has earned the school the Keith Wilkinson Trophy.
This year's carnival street collection, meanwhile, has brought in £1,236.
The money will be added to other proceeds from the day before the total is shared out between this year’s beneficiaries –
Otley Carnival Committee Treasurer Ann Steval said: "We are very grateful to all the collectors and to those who gave on the day."
