THREE more Thomas Chippendale themed events are taking place soon in Otley.

The town has been celebrating the achievements of the master furniture maker throughout June with the Celebrating Chippendale: Otley's Famous Son festival.

The celebrations, marking the 300th anniversary of Chippendale's birth, will continue on Friday, June 22 with a double-bill of lectures at Otley Courthouse.

Through Tempestuous Seas: Exotic Woods in Chippendale Furniture and Thomas Chippendale: Hero of Wharfedale will be presented by Dr Adam Bowett and James Lomax of the Chippendale Society.

Running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, the event costs £8.

Then on Saturday, June 23 the Courthouse will host Old Meets New - Making Chippendale Furniture on a 3D Printer where visitors can see models of Chippendale chairs being made on a 21st Century printer plus a film about marquetry.

Free to enter and running from 2pm to 4pm, Old Meets New will also feature an exhibition of Chippendale inspired artwork produced by local children.

Later on the same day Jack Metcalfe, one of the leading experts in reproducing Chippendale furniture, will give a talk at the same venue on Chippendale Marquetry Revealed.

The 7.30pm to 9pm event costs £8 and will cover the 'tools, techniques and timbers' Chippendale used to produce his renowned pieces.
