AN OTLEY charity is calling on residents to check in on their elderly or disabled neighbours during the cold snap.
Otley Action for Older People made the appeal via social media on Thursday, March 1 as the snow-covered town faced sub-zero temperatures.
Posting on the Otley - Our Town Facebook page, it said: "We have seen unprecedented snow fall over the last two days.
"We are managing with one staff member in the office with the majority of our staff members and volunteers unable to get safely into Otley town centre.
"We are calling on members of the public to check on your elderly/disabled neighbours to ensure they are able to keep warm and have access to food and drink.
"We have a few volunteers who can assist on foot if necessary."
The charity can be contacted via its Facebook page or by calling (01943) 463965.
