BESTSELLING author Jacqueline Wilson and CBeebies star Mr Bloom are among the line up in a host of children's events at Ilkley Literature Festival.

Organisers are promising "something for everyone aged 3 and up", - ranging from Beatrix Potter to Harry Potter and some of the biggest names in young adult fiction.

Former Children’s Laureate Dame Jacqueline Wilson, headlines the Children’s Festival with a special appearance on October 25.

Bestselling writer Annabel Pitcher and Carnegie Medal winner Kevin Brooks will also be be appearing - while younger children will have the chance to celebrate 150 years of The Magical World of Beatrix Potter and explore Muddy Puddles with Mr Bloom - better known as Ben Faulks.

Harry Potter fans aged eight and up will be able to experience his magical world with Fleurble Laffalot. Youngsters and the not so young will be invited to join in with spells and potions, and be part of a slow motion Quidditch match at the fun, interactive event for all the family.

Budding journalists will have the chance to Make a Newspaper in a Day while young writers are invited to join WordsFest for an afternoon of fun workshops.

There will be plenty to catch the imaginations of older members of the audience too this week, including leading poet Simon Armitage with The Haunting: Ghosts of Every Shade. The new work has been specially commissioned by Alchemy and The Leeds Library responding to M R James’ ghost story The Haunted Doll’s House.

Other highlights will include Substance:Peter Hook on New Order; The Place that Didn’t Exist – Mark Watson;

Ten Days – Gillian Slovo; and Matt Chapple, of The Great British Sewing Bee.
