CHILDREN who attend the nursery at Ashlands School in Leeds Road, Ilkley, have been busy taking part in some drumming sessions — thanks to funding from Ilkley’s Little Lane Children’s Centre.
Twenty youngsters have attended a drumming session for an hour, once a week, for six weeks.
They have been learning some African drumming and how to follow rhythms and patterns using their voices and the drums.
A nursery spokesman added: “We are also learning songs from other countries.
“This project has been funded by Little Lane Children’s Centre and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it.”
A team of staff at Ashlands Nursery look after children aged three and over during term time, using the Government Nursery Grant to keep costs down and standards high.
