The varied landscape of the district can be seen in its breathtaking glory in these aerial pictures.
From rolling moors to the meandering river Wharfe, and Bolton Abbey to our picturesque Yorkshire towns, the images taking from the air show off the area’s beauty. Particularly evident is the amount of Victorian buildings there are and how the population, and life, must have changed during that period.
Must of the district will soon to be under the gaze of millions when it becomes a route for the Tour de France cycle race which will pass through this summer and be aired across the world.
The images were taken by a photographer using a helicopter provided by Yeadon-based Multiflight.
