A hair and beauty boutique in Ilkley is searching for a local super-mum who deserves a treat in the run-up to Christmas.

No. 1 Hair & Beauty Boutique, in Crescent Courtyard, is celebrating the launch of its new Laura Mercier products by offering a local mum a prize of products to the value of £100 and a complementary make-over.

Members of the public are being asked to nominate a hard-working mum who would appreciate a bit of pampering by emailing info@onethecrescent.co.uk explaining why their nominee deserves the prize. The closing date is midnight on Sunday, December 8, and the winner will be selected by the boutique.

Annie Haggas, owner of No. 1 Hair & Beauty Boutique, said: “This is not just exciting for us, it’s exciting for Ilkley.

“As an independent boutique it’s very hard to attract a national or international brand, because we’re not a department store. For us to get a brand like Laura Mercier, who are in Harvey Nichols and Harrods, into our independent shop is incredible. This is the next big step for us.”

Annie, who was a partner at Knight Frank in Leeds for 12 years, says the new brand is a landmark for the boutique and for the town.

“Laura Mercier will put us on the map as an independent retailer and hopefully increase footfall to the Crescent Courtyard,” she added.

“I had a dream. Hair, beauty and retail all under one roof – the dream became a reality and it’s amazing.”

The owners are holding a three-day event to celebrate the launch of Laura Mercier on November 27, 28 and 29. The boutique is holding a special late-night event and will be open until 9pm on Thursday, November 28.

Laura Mercier’s national make-up artists will be on hand for expert advice, tips and techniques to demonstrate how to perfect Laura’s famous Flawless Face.

With every two products purchased during the three-day event, customers will be invited to pick a Laura Mercier treat out of the Treat Jar.

Kathy Murphy, account executive for Laura Mercier, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our products to No. 1 Hair & Beauty Boutique and to the women of Ilkley. Ilkley is such a fantastic, thriving town and people here deserve the very best.”
