Four women who will cycle across China to help fight cancer are holding a Christmas gift and craft fair.

The friends, from Bramhope and Rawdon, will take part in Action For Charity’s Women V Cancer cycle ride in September 2014.

Sharon Shaw, Susan Preston, and Jackie Fowler, from Bramhope, along with Jane Stockdale, of Rawdon, are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity by taking part in the 450km challenge across the Beijing province.

Susan said: “We all have family and friends who have had cancer and we want to raise as much money as we can for the three cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, the China cycle ride is supporting, while at the same time giving ourselves a real challenge we can take on and enjoy together.”

The women are holding a Christmas Fair in Bramhope in aid of the cycle ride.

It will take place on Saturday, November 30, at St Giles Church Hall, Church Hill, Bramhope, from 1pm to 5.30pm.

All money raised will go towards the Women v Cancer Charity Bike Ride.

The event will feature gifts, crafts, clothes, jewellery, cards, a tombola and refreshments.

Entrance fee for the event is £2, while children are admitted free.
