Wheatfields Hospice will round off its 60th anniversary year in festive style this month.

The Sue Ryder home, which provides care for people across the region suffering from incurable illnesses, is holding its Christmas Fair at St Chad’s Parish Centre, in Far Headingley, on Saturday, November 30.

The fundraiser takes place between 11am and 3pm and will include a variety of stalls selling festive goods including gifts, decorations and cards, along with refreshments and food from the cafe.

Christmas trees will also be on sale while children will be able to have a photograph taken with Santa.

Regional fundraiser Sarah Jane Meyers said: “The Wheatfields Christmas Fair is such a great chance to start your Christmas shopping and enjoy some festive treats.

“I really love this time of year, so when the fair is in full swing with Father Christmas in his grotto, mulled wine, homemade mince pies in our café and beautiful crafts, gifts and Christmas decorations everywhere, I feel like we’re launching the festive season.”

All proceeds will go towards helping staff at the hospice care for patients and support their families.
