The fourth Burley Festival Moor Run took place on Saturday, November 9, and despite the wettest race yet 153 competitors all finished the course. There was a mixed field of very keen harriers from as far as Sheffield, through to people of all ages who wanted to enjoy the event and raise some money for local and national charities.
As in previous years finishers received a t-shirt and enjoyed the sun breaking through as the event finished.
Burley Parish councillor Chris Hill, chairman of the Burley Summer Festival said: “The Moor Run is now developing into an annual attraction with people already asking about entries for next year.
“The Run is the last part of the Burley Summer Festival which this year broke all records in terms of attendance and enthusiasm! We are already planning for the 2014 Burley Summer Festival.”
