Councillors have welcomed the official opening of Rawdon Library which is being run by volunteers.
The three ward councillors, Graham and Pat Latty and Paul Wadsworth, gave the Friends of Rawdon Library a helping hand in September when they donated £300, and they have reiterated their support following its official opening.
Councillor Paul Wadsworth said: “I am delighted that the hard work, dedication and determination of the Friends of Rawdon Library has paid off after two and a half years. It’s great to see the library get a new lease of life under the care of local people.”
Coun Graham Latty added: “This much-loved library is now in the safe hands of local people who can run it to respond to and meet the needs of the community.”
