A day after turning 21, Imogen Dickinson challenged herself to a week’s sponsored silence raising £300 for Children in Need.
As part of Ilkley’s Outside the Box team she did a silent shift at the cafe on Saturday, even managing to serve customers. Nicola Wheeler, the cafe manager confirmed: “Imogen worked 1-4pm without a peep, quite amazing!”
Julie Moore, OTB’s learning and development manager, added: “Everyone here is so proud of Imogen’s fundraising. We are stunned she managed seven minutes of silence never mind seven days! She’s a real chatterbox and this proves how determined she was to raise money for Pudsey.”
Imogen added: “I wanted to set myself a challenge to raise money for disadvantaged children so for Children in Need I thought that not talking would be very hard as I am a chatterbox. I think everyone who knows me would say that!"
