An elderly woman driver escaped serious injury when her car flipped over when she hit parked cars in Addingham on Friday, July 19.

The accident happened just before noon on Bolton Road, near to the junction with Bark Lane.

Eye witnesses said the car came over the brow of the hill from Bolton Abbey direction and collided with the parked cars on the right before flipping onto its roof.

It is believed the woman in her 80s was helped out of the car by a passer by. Emergency services were called at 11.50am and ambulance crews treated the woman in the ambulance for minor injuries and took her to Airedale Hospital as a precaution.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire police said the accident had been classed as a minor collision.
