Ilkley Lido
Dozens of swimmers are expected to take a very early morning dip tomorrow, to celebrate the summer solstice. The Friends of Ilkley Lido and Bradford Council have organised a Solstice Swim at Ilkley Lido, Denton Road, at 5am on midsummer’s day.
Doors open at 4.45am with the swim starting as the sun rises. Breakfast sandwiches and hot drinks will be on sale afterwards to help swimmers warm up after their dip. Bradford Council says more than 70 swimmers have so far signed up.
