ST JOHN’S CHURCH: We had a quite splendid talk by Chris Powell on recycling rubbish to raise money for charity, enjoyed by more than 50 enthusiastic listeners. If you missed it, look out for him in the future. The up-coming St John’s Flower Festival on June 22/23 has got off to an excellent start. Meanwhile, the Open the Book telling of the Easter Story was another uplifting occasion much appreciated by the many children and parents taking part. The April diary looks full of a variety of events with the supper and quiz night tomorrow at 7pm. Tickets are available from (01943) 872433 or the organisers. The annual parochial meeting is on Sunday 21 at 11.15am in the parish room and Marilyn Banister, solicitor and leading Citizens’ Advice expert, will navigate a practical course through the current national welfare system on April 30 and May 7. There will be more. Services on Sunday are 8am holy communion, 9.15am Let’s Worship with young families and 10.30am parish eucharist.
