Police investigating two sexual assaults – one in which an Ilkley girl was targeted – are appealing for information to trace a Bradford man.
British Transport Police want to speak to 31-year-old Aamir Taj – who lives in the Bradford area but could be anywhere in the country – about the attacks, which both took place on trains.
On September 28 last year a 38-year-old Keighley victim was travelling between Leeds and Steeton and Silsden, when a man sat in the aisle seat next to her and stroked her leg.
Two days later the 13-year-old Ilkley girl was assaulted on a train between Wakefield and Leeds.
Det Con Gary Heseltine said: “We are keen to trace Aamir Taj and speak to him in connection with the two incidents. We believe he may have information that could help our inquiries.”
Mr Taj, who has black, close-cut hair, also has links to Pakistan.
Anyone with information should call police on 0800 405040, quoting background log B6/NEA of 11/01/2012, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
