A Bramhope teenager has helped put his school on the sporting map.
Sam Ward has been scoring success as captain of the under-16 rugby team at the Grammar School at Leeds.
The school has been named as the Independent Sports School of the Year by the School Sports magazine. The accolade comes after a year of sporting achievements, which has seen the netball squad becoming the National Netball Champions and the rugby squad bringing home the coveted RBS Daily Mail cup. The school has also had success in cricket, springboard diving and triathlon.
